About me

Hey, I’m Janelle. I grew up on a ranch in Eastern Oregon. As a child, I had many wonderful opportunities to be creative. DIY has always been a part of my life. My sister and I built a “Barbie Land” in our basement, complete with handmade furniture, shops, tools, and vehicles. We showed our horses, I raised pigs in 4-H for nine years, we moved cattle nearly every day of our lives, drove tractors and other large equipment, learned how to cook, clean, host visitors, work hard, serve through music and other ministries in our church, and also have tons of fun! I wouldn’t trade it for any other upbringing in the world!

My husband and I have been married for nearly nine years. He’s awesome and the love of my life! For the first years of our marriage, we lived in seven houses in seven years so I have been able to decorate many different places and spaces. Over the years, I have actually discovered my style! I would describe it as “Vintage Cottage”, if that is such a thing. 🙂 I love color and history. Some of the pieces in our home give a nod to my heritage.

I am passionate about life! I love to hang out with my husband and our two kids. Since I’m a stay-at-home homeschooling mom, the kids enjoy helping me with all my projects! I love to write (my children’s book is called “Country Fun” and you can get it here), play the piano, bake, spend time outside, go antiquing and peruse yard sales, decorate my home, do yoga, be involved in MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), and work on home improvement and DIY projects. The Lord has blessed us in so many ways and I am very thankful for all He has done for our family! I hope Fab from Drab is an inspiration to you as you discover all my “practically perfect projects”!
